unasked-answered prayers

The wildness of this story still keeps me wondering how a Creator could love me so much and pay so much attention to detail, that He would take me to a land i'd only dreamed of one day seeing, and show me of things to come! A song comes to mind, a song I heard late one evening, after sitting around a campfire with strangers and new, but already close, friends. A safari awaited us with the rise of the sun that following day, and my American friend i made while i was there, was lying in the bed next to mine. We were both sharing about the reverent awe we had for God, and how he'd take two girls across borders and broaden their horizons. I was sharing about a prayer i'd prayed where i'd been so bold as to ask God to increase my territory and broaden my borders...(be careful what you ask, you just might get it!) And in the dark cold night, looking out of the open roof top windows from our hut, my friend began to sing A cappella, these lyrics.... may i never forget!

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior

I had chills.....This song described my journey there, to a tee. I had really gone, just trusting God for where He had plans to lead me or show me. I was open. And so was He.  The sound of that song was the last thing I remember hearing before falling asleep.  What woke me up was even more amazing than I could have imagined. At exactly 3:52am, i awoke to the sound of a Lion roaring in our camp! It took me a minute, but only a minute. When i realized what i was hearing, i was beside myself. My first instinct was to get up and open the door. Crazy i know, but the sound was amazing, and all i could think of was this King of the jungle, here in our camp, roaring, and i wanted to see!! I didn't do that, but laying there hearing that repetition of his roar was chilling, let alone it was -1degree celsius. Freezing! And so i lay there, soaking up the sound. And that roar continued at least 7 or 8 times. I don't know if topping that moment is ever going to be an option. It was THE highlight of the trip! And there were more things to speak of, but this i'll never forget! And Africa, i'll never forget!!
